Today I’m talking about my absolute best style of dressing, monochrome! In fashion terms, monochromatic dressing means wearing separates of one color that have different textures and/or similar shades of that color for an overall tonal look.  Monochromatic dressing gives visual relief and timeless consistency from the ever-changing trends. I understand the fear of looking flat and monotonous, if you stay with me for the next 2 minutes you will lose it.

 

Wear the same color in different shades, this breaks down the monotony and yet maintains the tonal look.
When choosing a hue, try opting for a neutral color, it will up the effortlessness that the monochrome style already exudes.  
Wear multiple layers of varied textures of one color add depth and dimension to an outfit, while also allowing you to highlight, or downplay, certain parts of your body. Here, I brought focus to my waist area by adding a darker shade from the brown palette.

Dressing monochromatically is the most sophisticated way of dressing in my opinion. It emphasizes the concept of less is more. In fact, when you keep your overall outfit within the same color hue, the outcome can be just as striking as wearing a bold pattern or vivid color. Bonus tip, when dressing monochromatically, your outfit has one uninterrupted line from head to toe that elongates your silhouette, making you appear slimmer and taller than you actually are.
