Everything is everything, and everything is Love and Fear. This realization came to me while  listening to one of Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations.  I had one of those aha moments (moment of sudden insight/discovery) just like Oprah likes to say.

You see our lives are a product of decisions made by us. These decisions however small have two motivating forces behind them which are … you guessed it – Love and Fear. Love is inherent in every human being we see this best in babies. They come to this world with nothing but love and innocence, they wave and smile at strangers, they give love and expect nothing in return. This starts to change when we shout at children or hurt them for doing something we consider wrong, they develop fear.

Fear is learned, it is an ego thing.

Ego – The part of you that defines itself as a personality, separates itself from the outside world, and considers itself (read: you) a separate entity from the rest of nature and the cosmos. Perhaps necessary for survival in some evolutionary bygone, in modern times it leads only to (albeit often disguised) misanthropic beliefs and delusion. 

When a situation/person makes you feel bad embarrassed, angry, unloved etc. your ego structure is built to prevent you from feeling this way again and therefore you stay away from it, speak negatively on it or even build a personality around the event. The underlying force of the ego structure is fear. It could be fear of losing a job so you lush out on a new employee at work, fear of not being enough therefore you become a people pleaser to be seen.

 These fear responses are personal to each of us, and understanding our own fear responses is the first step on a path to choosing love, the kind of love that emanates from within. Our inner light. –  natalie dimambro

Next time you are making a decision think about the force behind the decision, I believe with practice we will become the very best versions of ourselves.
